Religious Education Classes
Classes for students in grades K-8 will be held on Monday evenings from 5:30pm-7pm for the 2025-2026 School Year.
First Holy Communion (Typically 2nd grade or OCIC2)
Please turn in Child’s Baptismal Certificate and Birth Certificate in hard copy to the Religious Education Office.
Confirmation (Typically 8th Grade or OCIT2)
Please turn in Child’s Baptismal Certificate, Birth Certificate, and Sponsor Eligibility form in hard copy to the Religious Education Office.
We are unable to accept digital copies of Birth Certificates or Baptismal Certificates. We must verify the seal on the original Baptismal certificate, and these must be brought to the Religious Education Office.
Homeschooling
Homeschooling families are welcome to purchase books through the parish if desired. Please note that for Sacrament years (2nd and 8th grade namely), homeschooling families must schedule an interview with the Director of Religious Education to review requirements and include your family in the parish preparations for the Sacraments. This interview can be scheduled by emailing ejohnson@stveronica.net. Homeschooling for Sacrament years is subject to the Pastor’s approval. An interview with the DRE must be scheduled by September 23, 2026 for those homeschooling families who have children preparing to receive First Holy Communion or Confirmation in Spring of 2026.
Parents, if your child’s reception of sacraments has been delayed for any reason and he or she is in need of Baptism, First Holy Communion or Confirmation, please contact us. We’ll be delighted to help!
OCIA
Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith? Are you ready to begin the process of entering the Catholic Church? Are you a Catholic who wishes to return to the Church? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are invited to attend OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) classes at St. Veronica Catholic Church.
OCIA classes are held each Monday evening from 7:30-9:00 p.m. in room P206. Classes begin September 22, 2025, but feel free to join in at any time.
The OCIA process is not a “sign-up” for becoming a Catholic. It is a time of no obligation, during which we pursue the truths and meaning of life, the answers to eternal questions, and the truths, teachings, and practices of the Catholic Church. OCIA is both for those who are already sure and for those who just wish to inquire and learn. Your time of inquiry will be respected as each person’s faith journey and path of grace is different. Our priests and staff will lead the OCIA evening sessions through teaching, direction, question-answering, discussion, and prayer.
We encourage inquirers to participate in the OCIA program at their home parish, if possible. A map of St. Veronica’s parish boundaries can be found here. If you reside outside of our parish boundaries, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to work with you and help you find the best place to begin OCIA studies.
